Favouring a beautiful environment : new priorities in real estate

16 June 2020

Close to nature, quiet with wide open spaces and if possible in a beautiful setting: These are the priorities that emerge after a confinement of several weeks, already relaxed since mid-May in the provinces, and just finished in Paris and eastern France. While the French had to stay at home, literally confining themselves to avoid the spread of the Covid-19 virus, they lived through this period of withdrawal with varying degrees of difficulty. Their living environment suddenly appeared to them as a source of well-being or, on the contrary, of stress. The real estate market is feeling a jolt in the provinces, and Brittany is known to offer a serene and privileged setting: houses with gardens confirm their popularity, and those with more land are equally attractive. Many couples and families have made the choice to change their lives: to leave the big cities and Paris, where confinement in an apartment may have been an ordeal.

The health crisis and teleworking iare transforming the market

As teleworking is a necessary transition, workers are now rushing to buy second or main homes, for which the preferred setting is now the priority criterion. The mayors of major cities are adjusting their electoral programme to enhance green spaces, promote bicycle lanes and encourage Parisians to use public transport. It will still take us a few months to have an assessment of the evolution of the real estate market in an economic context once again tested by an unprecedented health crisis. The French kept stone as a sure value, and even more so today, it seems to have the assurance of a protective mantle, provided it has many qualities. View all properties for sale by Cabinet de Charry
